Based on a surprising number of inquiries, we decided to proceed.That being said, we opted for a high end, state-of-the-art moisturizing product that spared no expense to provide the best ingredients.We discovered two major ingredient types that are nor yet used together in a moisturizing product. One type of Ceramide group of ingredients. The other is an ingredient derived from the "Sweet White Lupin" plant.Together, these two ingredient groups account for over 70% of the product's cost. The remaining ingredients are pretty typical of what is found in most moisturizers. CERAMIDES These chemicals comprise the lipid portion of the skin. There are three Ceramides used in this product including Ceramide 3, Ceramide 6-11, and Ceramide 1. Phytosphingosine, a Ceramide precursor is also included in the mix.The skin surface layer. Or Stratum Corneum, consists of two components: Dead cells that derive from the lower layers of the skin and work their way to the surface as new cells form beneath them, and the space between these cells, or intercellular space. It is in this intercellular space that Ceramides, other lipids, fatty acids and even cholesterol, which is an ingredient in the product, reside. Their purpose is to help maintain the moist suppleness of the skin's surface.
